STG forays into online education

-to invest Rs. 5 crore to provide online education to corporate

New Delhi, India - (August 10, 2001) India's leading IT services and Education Company, STG International Ltd. today announced the launch of its "Click and Mortar" education model using Advanced Instructional Technology (AIT) - STGonline. The model was launched in USA 18 months ago and has been very successful. The endeavor will be to replicate the same in India. STG is going to focus on the corporate segment because it offers them flexibility in time, place and also cost advantage to upgrade their skills. With a view to providing high-quality online education, STGonline has been formed under the preview of Software Technology Group International Ltd. (STG Int'l). STG is planning to invest to the tune of Rs 5 crore in the online education initiative over a period of time.

Speaking about STGonline, Mr. Yogesh Vaidya, Chairman, STG said, "Our online model will prove to be a true differentiater in online education market. The online model blended with hands-on laboratory sessions at our centers is a very holistic approach for the corporate segments. STGonline will not only function as a separate domain but would also positively reinforce our Brick and Mortar centers, thus, transforming the Education business by combining the power of Instructor-led training with Internet-based training."

STGonline has partnered with Institutions in offering comprehensive "Click and Mortar" Education on Oracle, Microsoft, and Web/E-Commerce Certification. The course modules will have Text, Instructor Insights (voice), Graphics, and Screen Captures, See-and-Do hands-on practice exercises and Practice Examinations for test preparation.

Speaking further about the initiative Mr. Vaidya said, "The technological changes in today's environment are so fast and dramatic that learning can no longer be in chunks, but has to be a continuous process, thus, forcing people to look at accessible and flexible ways of learning. With its interactivity and anytime, anywhere delivery capability, Internet is the most efficient means of learning."
